Get Found Locally. Get Called. Get Booked.

We do four things for local businesses: get suspended Google profiles back, get you into the Map Pack, stop your ads wasting budget, and build sites that convert the traffic you already pay for.

Why Appsolutely Media

Most agencies hand you a template and hope. We build the specific system your situation needs, and we tell you plainly when you don't need one of our services — which happens often enough that it's worth saying out loud.

The unusual thing about us is the reinstatement work. Recovering suspended Google Business Profiles means we spend every week looking at the wreckage of aggressive local SEO: keyword-stuffed names, unverifiable addresses, categories stretched past what the business does. It makes us conservative in a way that pays off in year two.

  • No long-term handcuffs. Month-to-month on recurring work, cancel with notice.
  • You own everything. Your ad account, your profile, your website files, your domain. If you leave, you leave with working assets rather than an export.
  • Transparent reporting. Numbers you can check, and we'll tell you which ones aren't trustworthy yet.

How We Start

The Free Audit

We look at what you have now — profile, rankings, ad account, site speed — and find where the revenue is leaking. You get the findings in plain language whether or not you hire us.

The Plan

A specific plan for your market and your situation, with what it costs and what it should do. Not a package tier.

The Work

We run the campaigns, build the pages, manage the profile — and report on numbers we've verified are real before we optimize against them.

My gbp was suspended and my attempt at appeal was unsuccessful. I hired Appsolutely Media and in two days Jessica Kim had it up and running. She is awesome to work with, I wouldn't hire no one else to work on my gbp. Thank you Jessica

We have worked through every version of this

Local search has been rebuilt from the ground up roughly every four years. Here is what actually changed — and what it did to businesses that were not watching.

  1. 2004–2009

    Local search gets invented

Google Local launches, Maps arrives in 2005, and the Local Business Center lets an owner claim their listing for the first time. In 2007 Universal Search folds local results into the main results page — and suddenly a business could be found without ranking a website at all.

  2. 2010–2014

    Renamed twice, then ranked differently

Local Business Center becomes Google Places (2010), then Google+ Local (2012), then Google My Business (2014). Each migration quietly broke listings that were not moved properly. Then the Pigeon update rewires local ranking around traditional web signals, and businesses that had ignored their website lose the map.

  3. 2015–2018

The map pack shrinks by more than half

The seven-result local pack becomes a three-pack. Overnight, four out of every seven visible slots disappear — the single most consequential change in local search, and the reason the top three matter the way they do. Possum (2016) then starts filtering listings that share an address or an owner. AdWords becomes Google Ads in 2018.

  4. 2021–2023

    Profiles start getting policed

Google My Business becomes Google Business Profile (2021) and the standalone app is retired (2022), moving management into Search and Maps. Verification tightens sharply — video verification, re-verification demands, and suspension waves that take down legitimate businesses for untidy data rather than bad behaviour. This is the period that created the recovery work we now do every week.

  5. 2024–now

AI moves in above the fold

AI Overviews start occupying the space above local results. The click that used to be yours now has to survive a summary first — which makes the profile, the reviews and the page it points at matter more, not less.

Dominic Nolan has worked in local search since 2004, in-house at agencies including Local Splash, and founded Appsolutely Media in 2015. The useful part is not the count of years — it is that the platform has been renamed four times and the map pack cut from ten results to three, and none of it arrived as a surprise.
